No Separate AFMC exams this year merged with AIPMT (NEET) 2015

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduate (AIPMT (NEET)-UG) is a nationwide medical entrance exam that is designed to replace various state level medical entrance tests and national level medical entrance tests from 2013.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are the organising body for both AIPMT (NEET) – UG & PG.

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Entrance Test for MBBS admissions will get merged with AIPMT (NEET) UG from 2013.

AIPMT (NEET) UG will be the only entrance test for MBBS and BDS courses from 2013, JIPMER and AIIMS MBBS Test may still exist as these bodies are independent and MCI will not object them.

AIPMT (NEET) UG was initially planned to be held on 13 May 2012, CBSE & MCI faced several objections with respect to syllabus and language choice of the test from different states. AIPMT (NEET)-UG has been put-off to 2013; the syllabus for AIPMT (NEET)-UG can be accessed from MCI website here.

Though AFMC will accept scores of AIPMT (NEET)-UG but the Institute will have its own selection criteria for evaluating students; only those students who opt for AFMC Pune in AIPMT (NEET)-UG application form will be interviewed for admission.

Recently, MCI has also indicated that the implementation of AIPMT (NEET)-UG in 2013 will provide enough time to bring the level-playing field for all students irrespective of the boards they opt for at state and national level.

After completing +2 (Higher Secondary) Final Examinations, Hayagriva Academy,Coimbatore runs Crash course classes  every year from March/ April for 30 to 35 days especially for All India Pre-Medical Pre-Dental Entrance Test - AIPMT  (AIPMT (NEET)).
